Cley Marshes

We have been promising ourselves another visit to the Norfolk and Suffolk coast for some time and took advantage of a few clear days in early June 2024 to pack our cameras and a few other bits and pieces and go. Naturally NWT Cley Marshes was on our must see list of reserves to visit and what a brilliant time we had there.

We spent all day at Daukes’ , Teal and Bishop’s hides and were enchanted by the family of Egyptian geese as the parents flew in to join their four rather large chicks. Nesting swallows flew into the hides and around us to get to their broods.

Other sightings included spoonbill, marsh harrier, redshank, avocet, black headed gull, little egret, sand martin, teal, little ringed plover, shellduck, lapwing, reed bunting, black cap, oystercatcher, mute swan as well as several others. Here are just a few images taken on the day.
