Le Teich

Réserve Ornithologique Du Teich, France, is made up of 110 hectares of wooded areas, reed beds, meadows, saltmarsh and water which stretch between the mainland sector right up to the Arcachon Basin coastline. Here are a few images of some of the birds we saw and a list of birds recorded at the reserve in February 2023 is shown below. This is a beautiful reserve and a must visit when in France.

We happened to be in France again in December 2023 and most likely we would have seen many of the birds listed above, had it not been foggy. No beautiful blue sky reflecting on the water that day and no images to be had of the waders some distance from the hides. No worries, it is still a beautiful reserve and on a couple of occasions two spoonbill and an avocet came real close.
