Palau de les Arts, Valencia

As hard and demanding as wildlife photography is, it is only when you try to portray the beauty of the lines, curves, shapes, colours architected by man do you realise that you have had a relatively easy time of it. As proved to me by the Palau de les Arts and other buildings of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Cienciasas. The architect of this ciudad is Santiago Calatrava and the building was completed in 2005. It is said that this building depicts the helmet of a spartan, above which a massive 230 meter long, 70 meter high curved structural steel roof, or feather, acts as a canopy. The first image shows the feather rising and curving over the building. It is only connected to the ground in two places, this is one, the other is somewhere around its highest point.
