Grey Heron at Pont du Gau

Ponds, swamps, lawns, channels, reed beds and saltmarshes all form this vast 60 hectare area at Parc Ornithologique Pont du Gau in the heart of the Camargue. As there is so much to see at this reserve I am celebrating only the Grey Heron on this page. It is the 1st of April 2025 and the breeding season is well underway. You can easily watch the comings and goings at the heronry and taking this opportunity to watch these very elegant birds should not be missed. Below are a few of the many images I took.
