The Food Chain

The Meadow pipit (photograph above left) is a beautiful small bird. It is an important part of the food chain and is known as the Moorland Mars Bar as it is a tasty snack enjoyed by many a predator!

It is distressing to watch creatures being hunted and caught but a healthy food chain is vital. If one link fails, it reverberates all the way up the chain. If you want to learn more about ecosystems, predators and their prey there is a brilliant Bitesize on the BBC website.
