Squacco Heron

It’s 2 years ago that I took these images of a squacco heron on the Ebro Delta. When we first saw it, it was perched on sluice about 200 yards away and it seemed to see us about the same time that we saw it. It was a very inquisitive bird and obligingly flew towards us, then around us, then landed on a bush next to us, where it stayed for about 15 minutes before continuing on its way. They do not normally over winter on the Ebro Delta so this was a very lucky chance sighting for us.
